Chapter 1: Robert Mongero (Masters)

“Ok Fine, I was a general, not anymore”

“Why? It’s complicated Simon, You wouldn’t understand it. General and me have a pretty long history.”

“Grown-up stuff Simon. It’s called grown-up stuff”

“I will not be able to explain that, but I will be able to explain how Alnovia got divided into two rastas (parts)”

“Honestly child! It’s not a bedtime story! You wouldn’t be able to get sleep in the first place!”

“Hush now, If you start crying, I am not going to spill a word about it”

“Ok, It started with two men”

“But before I go on, let me tell a lesson which will stick with you forever son”

“Never befriend a Dheighton, they are our enemies. They are the reason your mother is dead, your brother ran away, you have a burning imprint of the Pact Legion. And the reason I lost my position as a craftsman and inventor.”

“My eye is NOT twitching!”

“Ok, It started with two men”

“Darius Puik and Jeb Dheighton”

~~~~~~
We were standing in the middle of the room. Darius had sent numerous of his “Ignisniel soldiers” to attack Valsik Zsecktham, the middle piece of land dividing the North and South from their abhorrence. General Dheighton, Heron, and a few recruits in the Pact Legion of Training and Module (PLTM) and troopers.
The Great Map was scrawled over the wooden table. The Great Map was one of my very proud inventions along with the Cloveski. It had a touch mode to check the components of each piece of land, village, or settlement. And, also an ability to assign each virtual trooper to each unit area for analysis.
I was standing in the corner, appointed just as a teacher at Alnovia High. I was dubious of why I was called for. Heron, a combat teacher assigned under combat and training module in Alnovia High (and an ultimate scoundrel of law). That’s understanding. I shook my way away from the decision-making and stashed myself in the corner.
He called for me, It was him. No denying it. But, why?
General Dheighton stole a glance from me. I stilled and held my breath for a long moment.
‘We can cut the troop from the west seacoast to Valsik Zsecktham”
“No, the sea is also perilous, the colossal squid and sea serpents reside there. Our men will perish in a matter of seconds.” “We can cross through, though right?” I asked immediately, not knowing the promise I kept to myself of making myself silenced and cornered.
General Dheighton ran his hand through his bald, shining head and rubbed his face furiously. Everyone looked at me blankly. Wondering what idiocy I committed, I started to stammer profusely.
“No” He started “The maggots, nymphs, cyclops and even the Cloveski human testers are all..” He took a breath “We lost three of our men to them” We all spun around to look at him.
I puffed intensely. What was it this time Jeb?
“They just… They were setting out to find some of Darius Puik’s spies to steal the New modified Cloveski when the Bubak had just finished them off” He pointed to the great map “Along where the fire nymphs reside” He clicked on the map and a list of obsidian caves were picturized.
“Bubak” I muttered under my breath “It lives”
“It can’t be real”
“They’re just children’s mythical folk stories!”
“Madness that is. Flippin madness”
“I’m sure Mongero can find a way to create mechanism to protect our men”
Who was that idiot? The Bubak can’t be protected from!
Heron pounded the table and growled “General Dheighton, with all respect... You have time to find to turn this around. Get us a way to kill the Bubak. How long was this thing hidden? How many of our creatures has it killed? Is Valsik Zsecktham going to fall?”
Jeb...Why? Just Why?
General Dheighton dismissed us all with a wave of a hand.
We all left... I heard Heron mutter under his breath “I’m gonna put a bullet through that scoundrel’s neck one day”
